All the METAR's are from yesterday. Not refreshing. Some are even disappearing.

I know it is an unofficial source but it is the easy way to get local METAR's.

Well it's the 40th anniversary of the Rocky Horror Picture show, silly

Even easier is the AeroWeather app for your smart phone.

David will be sure to thank you graciously for not answering his question and being smart-alecks. *rolleyes*

The question was not "do you like AirNav?" but instead "why are there day-old METARs on AirNav?"
This has happened before but I forget the outcome.

I don not have the answer but I would report it to the AirNav webmaster. Though I suspect that he already knows. The METARs and TAFs are completely blank for me today so they might be working on it now. (better blank than incorrect, IMHO)

If anybody finds out what the problem was, please be so kind to post here, I am curious about the cause and resolution.

Didn't even know airnav had metars...I like to use AWC from NOAA as well as skyvector for metars. On my phone the AOPA FlyQ pocket works well also.

Sticking with fore flight for Metars ,and Tafs .air nav is usually good for info about the airports and FBOs. Also info on local area .

Yeah, that. If you're on a computer already, why get it from an unofficial source when the official source is just as many clicks?

Airnav has been slow with updates for years. Sometimes they're on, and sometimes not. Only reason they stayed so popular was because they were the first and Wikipedia sent them millions of hits. You can't put another service in for any airport on Wikipedia. Airnav is the only one allowed.

Well...except that the NOAA AWC site is not considered an "official source" for obtaining the required preflight briefing.

Last time I checked anyway...

...okay, curiosity got the best of me so I checked again. This is what it still says:

Currently, the information contained here does not meet the FAA requirements for a pre-flight weather brief. Therefore, it's important that pilots still call and obtain a briefing from an FAA Flight Service Specialist

I like airnav METAR's because with one check of one airport I get the nearest 4-5 METAR's and get an idea what's going on, unofficially of course.

Not sure if any other source out there does that. Will have to check the apps on my phone.

Airnav is a 2-man operation. If his little software that queries the noaa server goes down it may take him a day to fix it.

Not being a wise a**. Just making sure he was aware of another easy way. Thank you for correcting all of us social retards.
