What's up at Beale tomorrow?

Beale has a lot of UAV activity and it's rare when there isn't a TFR scheduled or in effect, from the top of the Class C on up. But it's usually not a big deal. Read the details of the TFR; usually if you're talking to ATC and squawking a discrete code (i.e., on flight following) you're OK to go through it. I usually confirm with the controller before entering, however.

It's really a PFR. I haven't gotten a briefing without it in a long time.

I fly through it all the time (it is right next to my home base). You can either stay under it at 1,500 feet or less or just get flight following, which I normally do. It isn't a big deal.

Most briefers tell me about that TFR every time I call, even though it is FAR from where I will be flying.

There is nothing "temporary" about that TFR. Like Richard, I prefer to call it a PFR.

But I don't generally get briefed about it unless I'm going near Sacramento.
