What's it worth

It looks like a great airplane. Except it is runout to a buyer and has 80's radios.

Less than 40, for sure.

Hard to say ,with run out engine, old avionics, also not sure of paint and interior. Could be in the ball park .

Looks like a decent airplane, past TBO and old radios, if I were looking, I'd want to be around $30k, but I'd be surprised if it goes below $35-37K. People see cheap and they think DEAL, $25K for a field overhaul, $10-20k for avionics, and you got $80K in a 69 182. ;)

Why not fly it the way it is?

Funny how we once thought KX 155s was the best there was, are we now so addicted to GPS glass that we can't fly the 155s?

I think it is priced right, final price $35k to$37k.

Wont sell for more than 35k, too much work is needed as stated above.

Too much Work? Like what? every thing works now. why not fly it the way it is. The average pilot will fly 50 per year. 300 hours more will take it 6 years.

Every aircraft is not require to be perfect. just airworthy.

I think that is a point that a lot of pilots and mechanics forget about. The average privately owned airplane doesn't get used that much so even if it is almost run out it will likely serve the owner for another 5+ years with no overhaul and minimal maintenance.

This 182 has 1700+ on a 0-470, that is pretty normal, with a top it would probably go another 1000. Or it could crap on the way home, roll the dice.

The aircraft looks to be in better than average condition, I believe the owner would take a 35k cash offer.

Yes, but then, we used to think Superhomers were great, then MK-12s were great, and then KX-170s, and now even GNS-430 are getting old.

...it's worth whatever whatever your're willing to pay for it.....and a pre-buy will dictate that!!

Does that mean we can no longer use the old stuff? Them old mark 12Ds/KX170s were great radios, If they work I'm using them, I may not fix them if they crap out, But .

I bet Jose says it's worth $50. Maybe him and Rick Harrison need to hang out together.

I get it,, but have you ever offered more than the seller wanted ? I once sold a bike the buyer offered 5k for it, I told him SOLD, he said I should have offered 3500, I said I would have taken it, His Wife was Pizzed.

If any one is looking for a nice family aircraft I think this one is a good buy.

I don't get it either. the amount of flying vs. the 'need' for fancy new stuff is disproportionate. Just goes to show airplane ownership has a huge nonrational ego component. Why is aviation expensive? cause everyone shops with their egos. :goofy:

There's a difference between offering something reasonable, and attempting to rape the seller with a cactus.

That may be true, but I believe a lot of folks here are simple tire kickers and will find a reason to not buy anything. It's always over priced and needs too much work.

I always offer the item at a higher price than I would really take, If they pay the higher price I grin and take their money, If they chew me down to what it is really worth to me, They feel like they won. so do I.

Same here. An offer within 20-25% of the price is one thing. An offer of 20-25% is ridiculous.

When I really don't want to sell it, I price it high, and don't negotiate. It is, where it is, as is.

But some times it sells anyway.

O-470, VERY basic avionics.

For 30-35k, I'd gut it, put a jump door and step on and make some money with her.

Honestly outside of being a entry level jump ship, 182s just don't really get me going.

These replies must be meant for the other 182 in the other thread with the identical title. The one in question looks like a very nice airplane. Low time upgraded engine, decent radio and GPS, I'd be happy to burn gas in it. The listed price seems like an appropriate starting point. I'd rather pay less if I was a buyer and get more if I was the seller. Nothing new about that.

I'd rather have the plane in the other thread. Rip out the panel and interior and re-do them, get it painted, and overhaul the engine and prop. Same total investment and I'd end up with a plane I like better (assuming they have equally good airframes). 1950/60/70- something airplanes can all benefit from a facelift.

Am I looking at the same ad as the rest of you? Why am I reading it has a low time P-Ponk not a runout? If the airframe is clean it's worth at least $65k and should bring $72k.

Yeah! Link must have changed. I'm seeing a 60SMOH Pponk listed at $79,000.00 :dunno:

I just noticed this is a necroposted thread, maybe they recycle links?:dunno:

No, it's because the query wasn't for a specific plane, but for 182M's.

Code:
search?s-type=aircraft&s-seq=2&s-lvl=2&make=[B]Cessna[/B]&model=[B]182M+Skylane[/B]

That other 182M isn't around anymore, but now this one is (hard link to the specific ad).
