Actually, I bet that that paint scheme actually works pretty well as camouflage, and that the plane is really hard to spot.

I keep thinking it would be a good idea to put an orange stripe on the top and bottom of my wing to enhance the visibility (especially in a crash). If that plane went down it would be a nightmare to find.

WWII US Army Air Corps did something similar. Called an "assembly plane" these went up and circled at circled so that the rest of the formation had a rally point before setting off for European targets.
