The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
This aircraft listed for sale is owned by one of the following:

Someone who lives at Cape Hatteras
A sports referee
A zebra enthusiast

Some folks have odd tastes in aircraft paint schemes... :yesnod:

"Good God Yes! I have the traffic in sight!"

Are those black stripes on a white base or white stripes on a black base?

Nah - it's Dazzle camo. He's trying to be a Stealth.

I like how they state "Hatteras Light House Paint Job" :yesnod:
Trying to convince us that it was actually done on purpose. ...10 bucks he didn't pay his bill at the paint shop.

Reminds me of a guy, Franc White, who did a TV show, The Southern Sportsman.

My favorite is still this one, keep telling the significant other it's what I want to buy if it's still available when I start seriously looking.

Cheetah

I keep thinking it would be a good idea to put an orange stripe on the top and bottom of my wing to enhance the visibility (especially in a crash). If that plane went down it would be a nightmare to find.

"So Mr. Plane owner, is that what they call a Grumman Tiger?"

If the 172 in the OP engages in spin training, would this be one of the visual results?

WWII US Army Air Corps did something similar. Called an "assembly plane" these went up and circled at circled so that the rest of the formation had a rally point before setting off for European targets.
