Do we have anyone here who's been affected by the disaster out in Santa Barbara? My cousin lives there but is on the road most of the time as a crew supervisor for stringing power lines wherever he gets sent. Those of you who live in Arizona, as an example, Mickey's operation strung most of those lines across the geography. He lived in Fountain Hills until "the next 2 or 3 year project." I chased him down in Colorado, yesterday. We've only crossed paths once in about 30 years but we stay in touch.
"You and Debbie OK out there in Santa Barbara?"
"Well, it's been close. Yesterday, they were evacuating up to 30,000 people. The fires came to within 1/4 mile of my house but they seem to have beaten it down at that point. Debbie said that as far as she can see it's a blazing inferno."
What a mess, tragedy out there.
