My wife swears she waited on him in Aspen after his "death".

Drug interaction is the most likely culprit, and I do recall hearing that he had some back problems. Might not have been an antibiotic, but it is possible that some sort of NSAID or steroidal pain med interacted with whatever muscle relaxant he was taking. Could have been given an opiate, which would likely react with a muscle relaxant.

Sounds more probable than anything else I've ever heard.

It can happen. Heck, thousands, might even be tens of thousands die here in the US mixing opiates and alcohol. I think most of those have legal prescriptions, too. Opiates can be really dangerous.

My medical pro I spoke with said that an aneurism due to interaction of muscle relaxer and antibiotics is unheard of.

Chuck Norris said the aneurism was caused by swelling.

The pro I spoke with said that an aneurism can be mild and undetected and cause swelling and THAT can kill. But unlikely the drug interaction was the culprit in the aneurism.

No doubt. Was on 4 oxycontins + 4 muscle relaxers a day for almost a year before they were able to find another, non-drug, way to reduce pain. Withdrawals suck. As does finding out you had other pains being masked by the damn opiates.
