What is 2015 going to look like for GA? Gas prices going to go down? Any new/noteworthy planes coming out? any new regulations? any new technology?

I feel like there is going to be 2 of everything

There will be new planes, new technology, but will there be new customers for the product. Gas will most certainly go up again.

Less of the same. For most on the user end at least. Not me though I'll be flying more and faster.

I too will be flying more and faster... and cheaper with cheaper gas in 2015.

More movement towards regulations that ease the regulations on medical certification and certificated parts and avionics on pleasure flyers.

I'm not sure I care about diesel but 100LL replacement would be good I think.

More people doing the ADSB thing so they can see me as well as I can see them.

Since the economy is steadily growing and the stock market is booming, I look forward to more money all around and hope that the boom continues while the inevitable bust comes in some later year.

Happy New Year

Gas prices should stay low for most of the year, so that ought to help people fly a bit more. I know I'll try to. I expect prices to rise dramatically by the end of the year, but it's just a gut feeling and nothing more.

There will be talk about changes to the regs and the part 23 rewrite, but nothing will happen.

There will be talk of all new airplanes, but none will actually be available for sale. The exception of course, would be possibly in the kit market.

There won't be anything significantly new in the avionics department accept the now usual tweaks to the iPad/tablet aps. I do expect to see more "all in one" ADS-B solutions come out this year that will lower the expense somewhat.

About the same amount of us will crash and die as last year. About an average of one dead a day. We will have about the same ratio of spectacular crashes to ordinary crashes. Everyone will claim to have learned something from them, but nothing will actually change. There's probably somebody out there about to crash somewhere in the country today.

Every kid in America got a drone for Christmas, so watch out on departure and short final! This trend will continue for the year. I expect by next year, the novelty will be gone and the fad waning.

Our police state will grow in strength, so expect the harassment by the Feds and local law enforcement to continue. They seem convinced as ever that Al Qaeda and the Mexican drug lords rubbing elbows with all the rich playboys down at the airport. The local airport is the obvious nexus of all death from above plots and illicit trafficking. :rolleyes2:

In short, 2015 will be same ol', same ol' for GA, complete with the standard gradual decline to irrelevance.

Happy New Year ALL!!

Paying $1.85 for regular the other day made me think it's time to get a 421, slap "experimental" on the side, and turn up takeoff fuel flow to 75 GPH a side.

I'm interested to see how The Cirrus SF50 jet does in the market. Cirrus has been planning this launch for some time now.

I'm excited about going to Sun and Fun as Well as Osh this year! I have been to SNF one day on Sunday of last year and I'm looking forward to going all weekend this time.

I have never been to Osh but I hear this is the place to go so I'm going to go for a weekend as well. I will be flying commercial to Osh and driving to SNF.

Anybody needs a lift to SNF let me know!

As far as predictions are concerned. Nobody has a Crystal ball so it's difficult to predict with any accuracy!

I want GA to get better this year and there has been some signs of improvement!

It is going to be interesting to see how long the oil price remains low. If it stays low for a few years (doubtful in my opinion) we could see the used piston twin market recover somewhat. Heck if avgas gets low enough I will think about getting a twin myself! :D
