What if...?

Here's another thread that makes my head hurt.

A. The advice to never declare and let ATC do it for you. Worst advice I think I've ever read on this forum. I hope it was a joke as you might as well wait for ATC to put your flaps down.

B. You don't HAVE to go to your filed alternate if you go missed. That statement is true even with lost comms.

C. Going to your alternate doesn't now require another alternate to meet fuel requirements.

D. Going direct to your alternate is okay...unless it's not. Mountains, towers, and airspace are not moving out of your way and blasting through some restricted airspace just because your NORDO isn't going to be looked on favorably.
