Clearly an augmenter tube, just like on the old Piper Apache PA-23-150 the flight school used to have in Williamsburg. Pretty sure I passed that jet once doing single engine work one day near LFI...Looks like Nasa saw the augmenters, got jealous, and is only trying to keep up.
