What do y'all do during a long stretch of bad weather?

My fastest times are also Vfr
However,
My slowest times a-b were before I got my instrument rating because I had to wait for the overcast to clear or just drive

For sure, having the option is huge, but given the option I'll normally go IFR outside of special situations.

A-B wise my fastest times have been when I did it VFR

Don't know why unless you're in an area that will always put you on airways when IFR.

There aren't any rules that say instrument pilots must always fly IFR, even within a single flight.
If course. I want to have the option available for flying in the system, but I like the whim more readily available inherent VFR is what I'm saying. Perhaps when I do it some more, this thought will disappear from my head, though. I still don't have enough experience in that realm to look too far ahead.

Flying from threshold to threshold, altitudes and descents and climbs at your discretion, even if you're cleared GPS direct, it won't be as direct as what you can do VFR

Bad weather? Shucks, we're going anyway. Why check it?
