True that. The guys couldn't be creeps is girls didn't allow them to be.

The Internet. Where the men are men, the women are men, and the little girls are FBI. No sympathy here.![]()

Is that what the police or prosecutor told you, or is that what your high-priced lawyer told you? You may get vastly different advice and vastly different outcomes based on the answer.Sigh - I got the police report today. Its even worse. The "girl" was 12. He admitted everything when arrested, after being read his miranda rights.
Open and shut.

He got himself int it, but if he shuts up and thru his lawyer denies having ANY intention of a tryst with a 15 year old, says he thought it might be fun to meet her and try to reason with her the dangers of this type of meet up and refuses to drawn into any the rdiscussion, it will collapse on it's own.
Pertinent details in the police report:
1. It was a very descriptive conversation that occurred beforehand online between the 20 year old and the non-existent girl
2. Upon arrest, the officers read him his Miranda rights, and he proceeded to admit to everything.
3. The fake girl was 12, not 15, which means there's no longer any grey area, and this is just a case of cold, hard dirtiness, and no one will give sympathy for it.
He's not getting a lawyer because he can't afford it. He's going with a Public Defender, which I can imagine will go pretty well for him....

The "15 year old" was actually a "12 year old" and the suspect is 20. Me thinks he's screwed, and rightfully so. When he was 18 and the "girl" was 15 I had a little compassion/sympathy for him, but 20/12 sorry charlie, you're going to big boy jail.
I feel the same way too. Its amazing how the story got progressively worse and worse.
18 vs. 15? Meh, I can see how that could happen.
20 vs. 15? That's bad, but immaturity makes one do stupid things
20 vs. 12? That's disgusting, and I don't think there's a person in the world that would feel its appropriate.
My opinion? He's going to jail, will get a Felony (2nd degree, if I'm not mistaken), will be on the sex offender's list for the rest of his life, and will probably never recover. And he's still getting off easy.
How about this defense: "When she said she was 12, and was interested in having sex with without even meeting me in person, I knew she was law enforcement. But the banter was so witty and appealing that I still wanted to meet the officer that I was chatting with and ask her out for a date."
Otherwise, I got nothin'. Sorry.

This age thing got me wondering:
What would have happened if he showed up, and HE turned out to be a minor? Does anybody get in trouble for luring HIM into that situation?
Also, if a 15 year old is too young to consent then logically two 15 year olds having sex are committing statutory rape on each other.

Wouldn't that depend upon the states legal age laws?Shut up, lawyer up, and straighten up.
40 might be creepier, but 18 on 15 is still statutory rape.
Yeah, a bunch of 40 +/- year old perverts are trying to lure a minor to them so they can have sex with him. Why don't they just drive around the neighborhood in a van and ask kids if they want to see a puppy?Well played sir
Every now and then you read about police arresting teens for child porn for sexting. Talk about being unclear on the concept.
