What a split second looks like

I wonder what caused the airplane accident, but I think I'll use it in my "spins" presentation.

It may be a nose over upon landing.

thats a clip from a video of an RV-7A having a classic RV nosewheel flipover on a grass runway in England ( I think)

The nose-over is indeed an RV-7A nose-over in England. Since the pics from that started making the rounds on the internet, Vans has come out with a nose-gear 'update' to change the orientation of the nose-gear fork to be less 'snaggy'.

Having seen the video of the landing, it was as much pilot error as airplane design error - pilot came in hot on a short grass strip, tried to plant the plane on the ground and stop fast with heavy breaking. Just so happened they hit a rough spot in the runway, nose gear bent inward, wheel fork caught the ground, and over they went.

Good to know - I'm still gonna put it in the spins presentation as the message of "oh ****" is the same. I found some good video too from one of the emergency manuevers trainers.

thats the super-short field RV technique.

Actually .... here is what a split second looks like:

Atom Bomb .... nanoseconds after detonation

What's the story behind the car plowing into the bikes? My god!
