Last weekend our hotel was packed to the rafters with pilots, here for our fly-in shrimp boil. We were sold out all weekend. It was exhausting but great.

This weekend we're again packed to the rafters, sold out with folks attending Sandfest, the premiere beachfront spring festival on the Gulf coast. Sand sculptors from all over the world are here competing for prize money. It's very cool.

Last weekend I spent 48 glorious hours discussing RVs, shuttling pilots, and watching planes of all makes and models.

This weekend our courtesy van sits, forlorn and lonesome. Not a single fly-in guest is here this weekend, having been pushed aside by the "Austin toy poodle" drive-in crowd.

*sigh* Although we will make almost precisely twice as much money this weekend as last, I sure miss you guys. I will take pilots over normal folks, any day... :)

I miss all my Texas friends. I'm gonna have to make sure when I head back down that way I visit y'all.

These folks are amazing. Our off-leash dog park isn't good enough for their little rat-dogs -- it's big and scary -- so they take 'em into the pool area instead, walking right past the giant "No Pets" signs.

Explaining that this violates Texas state law doesn't get us far, since these are the wives and daughters of the folks who make the laws... The word "entitled" was invented for them.

Dang, I miss you guys!

Well... since you brought it up... I enjoy seeing the Libs throw their greenbacks at Jay, where I suspect he'll use them for just about anything BUT furthering that agenda!
