Went for a sailplane ride today.

Somehow I got the dates confused for Tony's trip to Fairbault and thinking he'd be there this weekend I flew the Porterfield to FBL. Instead I had some nice chats with a few different folks on the field and ended up taking a soaring "lesson". The instructor let me fly the whole time and although we weren't able to stay up more than 35 minutes in the weakening late afternoon lift I had a blast. The aircraft was a Grob 103, something I've only flown once but I was told it's pretty similar to the ASK-21 I flew several times back when I was soarning 25 years ago. I sure wish there was more time in the summer around here to do all the things I want to.

Sorry about that lance, hope I didnt lead to your confusion. I was wondering how you were going to make it to Faribault when you were going to be in California. Glad you had fun with Don (I assume?) in the 103. Ive never flown one but hear that it is pretty sweet.
