...as I lasted on Facebook: 30 days.
Paying for it anyway.
So, I've listened to Slacker for about a year for free as it seems to have far superior customizing options than Pandora had.
But...
They had what I referred to as their "burn out songs". After every commercial selling the upgrade they'd play one of about the same dozen songs. I assumed purposely to get one to upgrade and thus no longer be burned out.
So I finally did last month because I listen to a LOT of radio, especially in the summer when I'm on a piece of equipment. I have hearing protection that I can Bluetooth to my phone similar to my Lightspeed headset.
But it didn't seem to help so last Wednesday I was out working for about five or six hours and I decide to keep track of what was played. I heard:
Three Kinks tunes
Five David Crosby tunes (not to mention more by other CSN&Y members and/or the group).
Three Marcus Miller.
Four John Prine.
Five by either Bob or Ziggy Marley.
Three Steve Miller.
Four Tommy Bolin.
Three Keller Williams.
And numerous each by jam bands such as String Cheese Incident, Leftover Salmon, The Gourds, Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Dead, etc.
All people I like but...
I have over 150 "seed" bands and 750 "favorite" songs in "my music" station.
What do they not understand about me not wanting to hear the same song/artist twice in the same week much less twice in the same day? If I wanted to hear the same sh*t every day I'd listen to the local classic rock station. They burn things out nicely, you can set your watch by what's on the radio.
So, I cancelled my subscrition at the end of the day on Wednesday, I mean why pay for being burned out when I can be burned out for free?
Anyone know of an Internet station with more diversity? Pandora was worse yet when I tried them a couple of years ago.
