WELL DONE POA!!!

Sock Monkeys.... who was the old PoA and Red Board alumnus who flew a DA20 and was known for sock monkeys? Back in the days when Lou Betti was active and not living in Boca
 
I actually saw where this came from, can't remember now, but anyway. These guys saw the thread/video of the POA monkey race and said " hey, that is great, why don't we do it to promote our flying". Kudos to them and I will be following along.

They already saw it, that's why they are doing it. They thought what we did was cool. Imitation and flattery and all that.

Ralphieflies. He used to buy tons of brand new headsets, GPS, etc., then sell the a few months later. Disappeared without a trace in 2011.
 
I bet they get it done in half the time using ultralights. Low, back country, under the weather planes with no runway requirements. It will be fun to watch. The POA one needs a book written about it. That monkey was the Neil Armstrong of monkey races

How about a GoFund to raise funds for a museum for the POA monkee! And to think we all knew the POA monkee before he became famous and uppity..... :D
 
The airplane ultralight vehicle in their masthead image is a Sadler Vampire, in my opinion one of the most beautiful, best-designed, and best-flying ultralights ever built.

How about actually getting the PoA monkey to his destination?
 
I thought eman was in NC, and I don't see the monkey map showing it making it to NC.

Yep. Bought a brand new set of Slick 4301 mags and impulses from him for less than 1/2 of regular price. He bought a new IO-240 which factory shipped with wrong mags for it, right for my C-85-12. They had one hour engine run-in time. Continental shipped him a new set and told him to keep the ones on the engine. He could have sold them for a great deal more, but just wanted to get rid of them. I know have 200 hours on them without issue.
 
Their monkey is bigger than our monkey.

Eman met the monkey in SC. Could have brought him back to NC, but decided to have me bring him to Oshkosh to pass on to let the shenanigans continue.

Chapter One has been declared a success.
 
@Dave Theisen so your saying @eman1200 touched your monkey. And you want to put ~1000nm between eman and your monkey.

LOL. For all we know he was some dude going out on the field at night pulling out GPSs, radios, headsets, plugs, etc. and fencing them on the red board.

I literally have his BatteryMinder sitting on the floor next to me. Yep, Ralphie...flew.
 
I posted denvers fb link to the fb flying friends group. I think that is where one of the ultralight group members got the idea I don't have access to Facebook at my new job. I will make sure the video gets posted to their Facebook group this evening.
