View attachment 61092 View attachment 61093 This is the post-flight drip from the breather tube. Oil has 6 hrs on it, and the drip has looked like this on the ground the last few flights. May have been like this before but may not have noticed due to the darkness of the old oil (plane is new to me and just starting to notice details).

Is this coloring and “froth” normal? Any internet experience or opinions?

Condensed water emulsified in the oil. It is more common in cold weather. The underside of the filler cap may have similar oil on it.

If you see that in an early 2000s Mercedes, run, don’t walk away from it.

(Their radiators crack and the trans cooler and coolant mix which makes for very bad juju. Since trans oil in them is red, it’s called “strawberry milkshake syndrome”.)

Seen it for 2 days straight after eating bad Mexican food once. Haven’t been back since.
