WEIRD... But Cool!!!!

The first person who says "what's a 45 record?" is going to get internet virtual smacked.

My 17 year old is "discovering" vinyl records. I guess they're making a come back. I have to chuckle when he gets a new album and is excitedly showing me all the cool cover art and liner notes like I've never seen it before. It takes me back to when I was his age and bought a new LP and couldn't wait to get it onto the turntable and listen to it beginning to end...

Here I was expecting to hear something like "you've entered the seventh circle of HELL!"

Remember playing the Beatles albums backwards looking for clues to Paul's dissapearance?

Man I'm getting really old ...

Damn kids. I have a collection of Edison wax cylinders. Plus the Edison phonograph to play them, with the big horn.

Not kidding, BTW.

You win. But I do have a player for the 78s grandma bought it new in the 40s has a hell of a hmmmmm these days, I'll. get someone to fix it up some day. For now it's a nice piece of furniture.

Needs a new filter capacitor. Easy to fix. Hard to find the part. Very few shops that fix that stuff anymore. A local ham radio club will have someone.

...paul is dead... paul is dead... paul is dead...

I would say that it is an improvement if it weren't for the fact that the song lasts longer.

I actually had someone convinced that the 45 of Madonna's Like A Virgin played at 33 was actually a cover by the Temptations.

I need hardware that will play my collection of Star Trek original recordings on Beta. I have a complete set, taped without commercials.. It would also be nice to find something that would play my 1/4" reel tapes that wouldn't cost a fortune.

The good news is that I do NOT have any 8-track tapes.

I do have 8 track tapes..... I'm too cheap to buy some of the albums on CD as long as one of the players is still working.

I know this opens me up to all kinds of ridicule, but my record player, which playes 16, 33, 45, and 78's still owes fine, and I still have a couple of band new needless for when the current one wears out.
