I declined this P/T contract job because I'm not very proficient in ASP and am too busy to devote very much time to becoming proficient with it. But I agreed to post the ad on a few boards on behalf of the client. Requirements are (verbatim from client):
  • experienced javascript coder to handle giveaways, forms, search engine, archiving, subscriber list dbases, feeds, etc.
  • experience with ad serving, ad rotation, flash, macromedia, etc.
  • availability for making small changes and handling emergencies on short notice
  • experience with, or a basic understanding of, setting up a blog
  • experience with setting up interstitial advertisements
Candidates can reply to publisher@WeJustGotBack.com

Hmmm....no mention of good skills in user interface....I might apply for this one.

I would have done it, and indeed I offered to pinch-hit for a while. But I don't have the time to learn what I would need to know before I felt right about selling myself as an expert on maintaining an ASP site. I know it's not brain surgery, but I'm already burning the candle at three ends between the two businesses, holidays, my own sites, flying, church activities, and so forth.

The client seems very nice and easy to work for, if that matters any.
