Weather Alert Saturday, 10.12.2012

Pretty strange to have a weather alert this large of an area. Wisconsin to Texas.

Yeah, I already canceled my XC for tomorrow. Looks unfun.

Yeah, but it intersected with my plans. It is only a 2 hour drive anyway.

Except that Saturday is the 13th.

That system moved through the SW yesterday, dumping tons of rain with flash floods all around and in Las Vegas. It rained hard all day with serious thunderstorms.

Flew over the start of it today. Had to dodge cells at 41,000 feet which is always fun.

Remember that this covers a 24 hour period. In a very active weather system there's a risk of a long line of severe thunderstorms along the front.

It bumbled through here this evening. Spotty rain, mild (if there is such a thing) generally isolated t-storms and was still seeing lightning to the north hours after sundown.
