I should be picking up our new (to us) Grumman Tiger tomorrow from its annual, and it's in need of a good bath and wax.

Any wax recommendations? Is standard automotive wax OK?

Car wax is just fine. I'd start out with a cleaner wax to get rid of old stains.

Any of the marine cleaner wax's work fine, also most of the maguires wash and wax are also good,

If you want results like the pro's wash thouroughly first, then use Meguiars 105 ultra cut compound to get rid of paint oxidation, follow with Meguiars 205 ultra polishing compound, and finally a good wax. Needless to say you need to use a good polisher like a porter cable 7424xp or you will just be wasting time. If you want to go the extra mile clay bar all surfaces before using any of the compounds above. If you just use the stuff above, however, I think you will be very pleased.

Clay bar an airplane. Good lord you're a glutton for punishment aren't you? LOL

Henning got me on Collinite 845 a few years ago. Works great.
