Our charter operation decided to get everyone flight jackets so we could all stay nice and warm and look alike during the winter months. Apparently I get left out but not because they didn't think of me, it's because I don't fit men's sizes. Do any of the ladies out there know of a nice and reasonably priced black leatherish jacket to wear to work? I'd like to keep it under $150 if I can especially considering the guys ordered theirs from Khols! (Yes I looked at Kohls)

I'm also having difficulty finding sunglasses that fit. I have a really skinny face so any that I've tried so far are either uncomfortable or feel like they're going to break under my headset. I'd like to find some that are face forming with either a slim black rim or wire rim. Not looking for top gun though nor do I want to buy $200 Ray bans or Oakleys.

Any ideas?

Haha, I feel your pain. They would send the guys to a men's store for suits but finally had to send me to a tailor. At least now they have dispensed with the suit jackets and I can usually come up with my own pair of slacks. The only problem is that the official color is "charcoal" and it's hard to match the right shade. Good thing they are not all that picky.

I don't know if you are going to find a leather flight jacket for $150 but I have this satin one with thinsulate which comes in women's sizes.

Gotta keep my girlish figure to fit in the skycatcher. :D

Tristan, I got some eagle eye sunglasses that are ok. Except that they are polarized. I just take them off and stick the sides up at an angle above the headset ear cups and then slide them back on. They sit at an angle but I can still see well even without the bifocal part on the bottom. I know you prolly don't wear bifocals yet.
I got my flight jacket from US Wings. Don't remember how much it cost it was a gift from hubby for my instrument ticket. It has a thinsulate inner liner that zips out
Good luck

I like my ray bans - well worth the $80 or whatever they cost. My preferred professional pilot outfit consists of a carhart jacket with a few oil stains and some jeans. Shorts for the summer.

Gotta love G&B! I got a royal blue flight suit 10+ years ago for an exhibit at the Denver Museum. The paid staff liked it so much that when the new Mars exhibit went active, flight suits were part of the costume collection.

Check out the Sales section on the website. If it fits, it's a great buy.

You might try checking eBay too if you know what you want. I picked up a San Diego Leather Company jacket from a furloghed Delta pilot for $85, and it's $325 on their website on sale (says $600 new). That one is a ladies M. I also have a Canyon Outback leather jacket, mens S. It doesn't fit quite as well, but it's wearable.

As for sunglasses, I went to my optometrist and tried on frames until I found one I liked. I then had 'serengetti' colored lenses put in them. :-)

I hope this link preserves the search criteria:

http://www.zappos.com/women-sunglas...AgUBGAIHBw.zso?s=goliveRecentSalesStyle/desc/

If it doesn't, select "women's" then "aviator frames" for "style", then "narrow face" under "fit assist"

Our company gets our Leather Jackets from Pop's Leather in Turkey. www.popsleather.com, Tel. 90-322-346-5011
They have supplied women's also. Opps, a little more than $150.00.

Yeah. I know I hate it when my jacket puffs out at the waist.

Get the men's size and wear warm clothes underneath. You'll stay toasty warm when you need to preflight at 4 AM in -40° temps. Get good gloves too

Smith Optics makes sunglasses in smaller sizes for women. I really like them, unbreakable and several models have changeable lenses.
