VW Radial engine, has it ever been installed??

I came across this youtube vid and thought it was a good idea since it uses parts that are already in production. Has anyone seen this before and has it been installed on an airplane??

From what I heard, it was built just for the fun of it with no plans to ever install it in a plane.
