I should probably know the answer to this but I don't. Can someone tell me what the voice capabilities are of the FORNEY (TBN) VOR located at KTBN on the Kansas City sectional? I see that there is no line underneath the frequency indicating the VOR has voice capability but there is no FSS name listed underneath the box and no discrete frequency listed above it.

I looked around and found two other VORs with this same depiction at KPOE and KFCS. I noticed all three of these are Army installtions, is this something specific to VORs at AAF installations?

I have no idea, and you are going to get answers like, "what's a VOR?"

But....WELCOME to POA!

TBN has no voice capability.

FXU VOR also has no voice capability but FCS VOR has ATIS.

Thanks Steven. Any idea why TBN's the frequency isn't underlined on the sectional's navaid information box? Also, where did you find that FCS transmits the ATIS?

I don't know, perhaps it's not required. It's not a heavy line box indicating a FSS and it does not have a FSS underneath, so there's nothing to indicate the frequency should have voice. But underlining the frequency would make sense if for no other reason than consistency.

Also, where did you find that FCS transmits the ATIS?

The sectional, enroute chart, and A/FD all indicate that.
