I have a urinal at home.

I agree, getting up close is the best solution. I disagree that aiming into standing water at the bottom (if the urinal is of that type) is bad in all cases.
You see, however, until everyone gets up close and tries to not make a mess, each successive user is standing farther and farther back as the urinal gets nastier and nastier.
My home urinal - no problem. It's clean and stays clean. I have no issues with my trousers touching the sides of the urinal. The bar bathroom... not so much.
Side comments:
I have a customer in a building that is >100 years old. They have a bathroom off of a shop that has the biggest freaking urinal I have ever seen. It's one of those "to the floor" models, but this one is at least 5' tall and 3' wide. It looks like a freaking shower stall.
This, of course, is the coolest urinal installation ever:

I would like, for above my urinal, a composite shot of vintage risque airplane nose art. Anyone know where to find something like that? I keep thinking that I'll find it at OSH one year, but I never see a "composite", just individual pics.
Edit - here is the "training aid" for a clean bathroom

Yes, I do think about odd things.
