Amazon starts collecting tax in Virginia on September 1.

I don't know why they've avoided it to this date. THey have a SUBSTANTIAL presence here in the commonwealth (up near Sterling, VA some place). When I've ordered books from them, they've come by local delivery courier in less than 8 hours.
