I'm using IE and get an eternal "working on it" black screen when I click on the thumbnails.

What do I do to fix this? I have a vague recollection of this being an issue with my last computer too, and I recall that it was an easy fix.
 
I just tried from my IE9 and I can open attached pictures.
What IE version do you use (I find IE11 to be very unreliable and otherwise effed up) and what specific thread is causing the trouble?
 
2 things....1) people attach horribly large pics and it'll just take a while to open, 2) I click on a pic, get the black box, CLOSE IT, then click on it again, it typically loads right up.
 
I'm using 11, and it seems to be universal on the boards that use this software. T most recent reminder of the problem was "Caption This Photo"

that image was over 5mb if I recall. I tried offering advice once and got whamboozled for it so now if an image doesn't open I just move on.
