I got a call last night from a friend who owns a Harvard. He asked me to join him with a gaggle of pilots who will be doing flyovers over several Veterans Day parades in SE Wisconsin, Wx permitting.

I've never flown behind a radial, and have never flown in a formation. Should be fun. I hope to post some pics tomorrow.

What a great flight today. We had a Harvard, an SNJ, a T-6, a T-34, and PT-26. Winds were 20G30 at takeoff, anywhere from 20-40 degrees off the runway heading, so it was a little sporting. Vic, who owns the Harvard, was lead, and conducted a very professional briefing before the flight. After takeoff we did two 360s over the Waukesha airport so the flight could form up, flew over the Waukesha Veterans event, and then headed East to Milwaukee's Veterans Day Parade. We did two 360s over the War Memorial on the lake shore, and then headed back west. After the flight broke off, I was able to get some stick time in the Harvard. Ceilings were too low for acro, but still did some 60 degree turns, etc. What a day.

Not sure why I can only load one pic at a time.

What I couldn't believe was the visibility out of the canopy, even from the back seat. For the first time in my 9 years of flying did I actually feel like I was flying. It was stunning, and makes me wonder what my next flight in the Cutlass will feel like. I'm already getting claustrophobic thinking about it.

I guess I need to buy a T-34!!! Courtesy Aircraft, give me a call.
