Need to ship a small suv from Salt Lake to Dallas via an open transport. Any personal experiences with shippers you would recommend or for that matter any I should avoid.
Thanks

Most shippers are brokers, but I have used directly owned shippers for various vehicles to ship east coast, west coast, and gulf to Indy area. No complaints, they aim to please. I would avoid brokers in my personal opinion.

Is it driveable?

Many times, car dealerships have a group of retired guys that drive cars between dealerships that trade cars. Maybe they could put you in touch with one of them that will drive it for you

Judging from some of the rigs you see on the highways and how they are driven, I would be scared to to give anything of value to about 90% of them.

Reliable is on one end of spectrum and uship is on the other.

I’ve had good luck with uship, but it’s been a while since I’ve used then.

Agreed. Reliable is the gold standard in shipping classic cars around.

Why did this thread make me think of that old Richard Pryor movie Moving when he hired Dana Carvey to drive his Saab across the country and he ended up being schizophrenic...

I remembered Kowalski from Vanishing point ...

But the leading ticket-takers were the third-place finishers. Larry Opert, Ron Herisko and Nate Pritzker of Cambridge, Massachusetts, received six tickets, talked themselves out of a seventh and narrowly escaped jail for allegedly stealing gasoline at one point in their journey to California in a 1971 Cadillac - in a time of 36 hours and 56 minutes.

The Cadillac, by the way, was a "drive to deliver" type picked up in New York for delivery to an unsuspecting owner on the West Coast.

One of the Caddy drivers, Nate Pritzker, is an old buddy from Lockheed.
