Anyone wanna get together for a mini flyin tonight. I'm vatsimming all crazy tonight and could use some company. Lets pick a destination and get out there and fly!

I'll be on for a few more hours.

How about Gastons?

I'm 877033 - N999NN.

Wow.. I haven't VATSIM'ed in forever. I think I actually deleted SquawkBox from my laptop a few months ago. I'm probably so far behind on the versions of software that it would take me all night to get updated.

Pay no attention to the horrible speed and altitude management....

Here's Gastons at dusk.

I don't see Gaston's in that screenshot, but I see the Dam, and (I think) Mountain Home / Ozark Regional (KBPK). But it looks like you're almost there!

I think Gastons is the line parallel to the river just to the right of the top of the compass.

Man, I wish I had seen this last night! I would have joined you! We should plan these semi-regularly. Like maybe once a month or so...

Yeah, I would have jumped in there too. I do practice my instrument approaches on a regular basis so a fun flight would have been a welcome change. Besides you can't beat the cost of fuel!!

Well, I'm gonna be flying again here shortly, in 35 minutes to be exact. Anyone care to join?

I might set up some sort of monthly PoA thing if there's enough interest. Its a killer way to fly for free :D

Yep, I'm necroposting.

Anyone still doing this?

I think I'm going to start "training" to be a controller to pass some of my free time I have when not flying.

I use VATSIM now and again. Sometimes I practice procedures, sometimes I join other folks in a group flight.

Anyone else use BVATC? That's what I've been going with.

I started screwing around with the Controller ratings on VATSIM a few years ago. It got to be too tedious for the amount of enjoyment it offered. Very unorganized. Bunch of people in a pi$$ing match in a virtual world about who knows the 'correct' way to do things that really don't matter (sound familiar)?

Maybe it has changed by now. I got up to a tower controller at ATL, but couldn't find anyone that I could 'train with' to get the A80 and Center ratings.

I got to ground controller with ZATL, but there was never very much action.
