Not a lot facts in the article and the ones there don’t make much sense. Waukegan to KARR and reported engine trouble soon after departure. The plane went down, assuming after after dodging Chicago airspace, near Aurora. Plane not very recognizable and the pilot was injured and taken to the hospital.

Lucky for the pilot. Those things have no flaps and come in pretty fast. Lost of energy to dispel, and not a while lot of structure to absorb it.

This is on my commute home. I heard the news and decided to take back roads. Looks like the pilot did a good job landing missing all the traffic and cars. Hoping for a quick recovery.
