Van's Air Force Site Dead?

They heard you got an RV and figured the end of the world was actually here.

Crikey, now I tried to post on AOPA's Red Board, and got this:

"PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 01BEA054"

WTH is going on?

You posted something non-rv related, speculated or did not donate.

Maybe the PoA admins have made arrangements with the NSA to "take out" competing forums? I have it on good authority that one of the admins was seen on a certain grassy knoll a few decades back and is older than they look or claim to be....

Sequestration has grounded Van's Air Force as of July 2, 2013 at 10:00 PM CDT.

Seems like the competing forums don't need any help taking themselves down.

Stuff happens. I'm sure POA has screeched to a halt at some unplanned moment at least once in its history.

Every night at 2am eastern (that's 11pm Pacific)...

We run backups at 1am central. Since vBulletin 3 sucks and really loves it's MyISAM table engine we cannot easily switch to the superior InnoDB engine. As a result of using MyISAM we are forced to do locks while the backup runs. Since vBulletin does writes for pretty much any action it makes the site rather unresponsive.

The window could certainly be reduced by doing it at the filesystem (locking, snapshoting, then unlocking, then backing up the snapshot) but I really don't feel like setting that up..Since..well..I have more important things to do :)

VAF is back up now.

And seriously... IIS? Who uses that any more? Well, I guess some people smoke crack too. Impaired judgment knows no bounds.
