No aviation, aside from two looong rides on a SWA 737 and watching a med-copter takeoff from a nearby hospital.

Festival of the Arts in Grand Rapids, MI (http://www.festivalofthearts.org/). My sister was co-chair this year. An incredible amount of organizing involved!

The festival ended early on Sunday with the arrival of a few storms. The GR police shut it down just before 4:00pm for safety reasons (lots of lightning). Overall, it was a great weekend...just a little too quick!

Pics attached, most using my new 70-200 lens (which I'm absolutely in love with at this point). The kids (who aren't on stage) are my nieces and nephews.

Brain: Cute Kids! They must love it when their Uncle visits. yeah Icecream, T.V. Stayin up late. Uncles are so much cooler than parents. ha ha

Brian, those are awesome photos!

Thanks, look likes a good time was had by all.
My kids are in Utah since last Monday till the 21st, and I'll probably be away when they come back. A very long time not to see my favorite two little faces.

You should of said you were headed this way, Brian.

I'm 10(air) minutes north of KGRR and Ed Frederick is just south.

As I recall, you previously resided in West Michigan before moving to AZ, right?

Did you come back to cool down in the 90+degree/90%humidity, tropical weather that we are experiencing?

Actually, I did note it in another thread. Don't remember the topic, though.

This was a quickie trip. Other than a brief afternoon side trip to Croton to see my mother, we stayed downtown the whole weekend.

Yes, I lived in GR and surrounding areas (Belding, Lowell, Holland) for 31 years before moving here.

I forgot how much I hated that humidity. It was 97 yesterday at the house and I felt more comfortable than in Michigan over the weekend. This dry heat thing has something going for it!
