If not for photography being strictly verboten here at the shipyard, I could get a picture of the bones of the original and as well as the new one rising out of the dry dock a few hundred yards away. Pretty cool to watch both processes (take one apart, put another together).

Aw, c'mon! You'll find another job. We want to see the pic!

years ago when i worked where a camera would get me big trouble,
i snuck a little one in when i worked swing,
i took a pic from an odd angle of the big machine i ran,
i can not tell what that pic is about!
it is still a mystery to my eyes,, cant make heads nor tails of it...

why is there a picture on the inner-webz of a place I was not allowed to take pictures of, and how did Rod Serling get in that shot?

A little known fact about CVN 65. The Coral Sea, could make more fresh water underway in the gulf of Tonkin than the Enterprise. CVA 43 pumped fresh water to her on several occasions because they were on water hours. fact.

Yeah, I'm happy with my job at the moment, probably pass on pictures for internet consumption. But if anything changes on that front, I'll start snapping away until the guys with guns catch up to me.

Cooler thing to me is the subs going together. Also can't get that on camera.

The engineering behind such a huge, complex machine has always been amazing to me. Especially without the kind of digital help that we take for granted today.

No space left for water equipment, too damn many reactors. LOL.
