User Waypoints from Garmin Pilot to GTN 650

I can easily transfer flight plans from my ipad with Garmin Pilot to my GTN. I have been unable to figure out how to transfer user waypoints. Is there a way to do that?

I have some waypoints to get around the ATL bravo that would be nice to have in the GTN and I'm trying to figure if there is a more efficient way to get them in than re-keying.
 
They automatically transfer if in the flight plan, but then I think you have to do an extra step manually if you want them permanently stored.

This. Put them in a flight plan, and then name them once they're in the flight plan on the GTN. They come across as "USR001" and such in the flight plan, but you can save them I'm pretty sure...

I just never bother saving them on the GTN because I have them saved on the iPad anyway, and that's where I'm planning my flights.
