I agree. We should just stay out of it. There's no good side, so don't bother trying to pick one. Just stay the hell out of it.

Either that, or nuke them both and be done with it. And if China has a problem with that, nuke them, too.

I know you jest, but that was an option seriously on the table after the Second World War. We were the only nation with nuclear capability. We could have ruled the world.

We would probably be much better off scientifically if we had done such a thing, as awful as that sounds. We would certainly have been able to focus more on space exploration.

What??!! This makes absolutely zero sense. Why in the world, if we were kings of the world, would we go into space? Because we would be bored with no one to fight? Crazy hypothesis, love to hear the rational.

And they would have been terribly wrong. This is why you don't let generals have the last say. They have historically made some really, really stupid decisions.
