My Juniper Bonsai tree is about 5 years old. I acquired it about 2 years ago from a local foral shop.

Over the past few weeks the tree has turned yellow and the leaves are very sharp and fragile. I have tried everything from repoting to watering it less often. All the online suggestions I've tried has done nothing. The tree dies a little more each day. Right now only the lower branch and trunk is still a very lite dusty green. Everything else is burnt yellow.

Anyone have any tips. Is the tree a goner ?

Take it flying. If that doesn't pep it up, nothing will.

Wax on, wax off?

How are you watering it? Many Bonsai prefer watering from below. You fill a pan with water and let them soak in it. The moss sucks up the water and keeps the whole thing moist.

I think once an evergreen shows those symptoms, it's usually already been dead a while.

Has the tree been getting dappled sunshine? That's what they need. Has it been gutting a cool period during the winter? Conifers need that too. Being in a pot is very stressful for them, so they need very gentle care and superb conditions.

I agree that it is probably dead. I don't know anything about bonsai trees but I have plenty of junipers in my yard. After I cut live branches off and throw them into my gully I notice that they stay green a long time even when they are not connected to the bush any more. Any branches which are yellow and brittle while still on the plant are dead.

I've been watering it from above with a spray bottle every other day. It sits on the window ledge above the kitchen sink. So it gets direct sun during the last half of the day.
