Sitting at work, watching cumulus clouds pop up out the window. Im 100 miles from my glider port, our tow plane is still in annual, waiting for new wing struts, the club gliders are still in boxes. Forecast today says 400 FPM to 4000 feet. i cant wait for the sun to get a little higher, everything to be in order, and me to be at cloudbase midway through a cross country. next month hopefully

of course nick! cross country soaring is the ultimate aviation adventure. demands excellent situational awareness and piloting ability. have to navigate, thermal (climb) efficiently, read the clouds, decide the best course of action to stay in good conditions, monitor altitude, be prepared to land out. its a work out and lots of fun. then you move up to contest flying and you are trying to do it faster than the next guy. Lance can probably elaborate.
