Hi all,

Few days ago my stomach started to hurt in an unusual way so I took a quick trip to the physicians office. After 5 minutes of examination and a sonogram of my navel area, it appears that I have a small cyst on my urachus (connects bladder to umbilical cord).

The surgeon agreed that the cyst was too insignificant to warrant immedeate surgery, but the long term risk of cancer developing in the localized area (50-60 years) cannot be ruled out. Thus a surgery will probably have to be done at some point in the near future to remove the cyst.

The surgery may be done laparoscopically and the surgeon noted that I would only have to stay for one to two days before I could be discharged.

Does anyone here have experiences with minimally invasive surgeries and maintaining a third class medical? I'm in my early 20's, so I'd hate to lose my ability to fly!
