Upgrading from a 3rd to a second class medical

I have my 3rd class with a SODA for color vision. I would like to pursue my commercial rating and would need to go up to a 2nd class. Is my SODA for color transferrable?

Thanks! looks like no danger of a down grade on my class 3 so I will try to find a place to do the operational color vision test.

Caution. I had a student pilot who wanted to do the color vision test. We visited the local tower to chat and do a trial. The tower operators told us to NOT do it there, because the light guns were WWII age equipment and totally unreliable. They recommended two other airports not so far away that had newer towers and newer equipment.

I have my soda form already . I read where the led lights are much better than old incandescents

Your situation requires a flight authorized through CAMI and the FSDO. In some FSDOs the FSDO then farms it out to a trained DPE. YMMV.
