Unknown Sectional Icon

Greetings,

I've returned to the air after 42 years and will be annotating my adventure back in a future post. Having received my BFR after six lessons (8 hrs), i'm planning a few trips with my wife, one of which is to San Diego from Northern California. Progressing through Bravo in LA shouldn't be a problem, given the number of flyways, one of which is at 9500.

Question: on the San Diego FlyWay chart, i'm finding an icon that no sectional legend has identified. What are these things?

It shows the width of the flyway and is part of the legend on the flyway chart.

ahhh.. now i see the icon on the flyway chart (right hand side). The legend seems to indicate both the width of the flyway as well as a divider between an elevation change (one required elevation range on one side, and another elevation range on the other).
