And it won't just be any flight of Boeing's next-gen jet, but a seat on the delivery flight from Boeing's 787 assembly plant in Seattle back to United's hangers at San Francisco Airport, before the 787 enters commercial service on the new Houston-Auckland route.

I'd bid if it were the IAH-Aukland trip. But not BFI-SFO. Besides, it's only for United's VIP Mileage customers, and UAL erased all my miles without informing me back in 2005. "But the policy was posted on the website!" they cried. But I never received written notice that all further communication would be on the website.

I haven't flown United since.

Wow... I didn't realize the entertainment system on the 787 Dreamliner runs on... ANDROID.

This should please Nick.

Ever since finding Garmin's MyCast, I've wished I could cobble up a "kid sized" yoke that would clamp to my tray table. That way, with the yoke and MyCast showing the split screen for the 6pack and the VFR chart, I could act like I was operating the aircraft in seat 16E.

Interesting. Pretty good chance my sister will be on that flight as a Boeing flight test engineer. She covers a lot of delivery flights.

That, sir, conjures up a delightful image of whimsy and fun! :D
