Wondering if anyone else might be or have been in the same boat as me here - my son is working on his Private Pilot License, and I'm working on my Instrument Rating.

I'd like to find a good online ground school option that offers a bundle that covers both PPL and Instrument (as he'll likely need that as well), but also offers multiple user access so that we're not paying for two licenses to the schooling. It also needs to have the possibility of the written endorsement included...

Worst case, we can buy two licenses at full price, but hoping there's something for just this scenario out there...

if i'm understanding it, you are proposing two enrollments, one ppl, one ifr. and both pilots have access to the ifr ground school portion. not being crass, but a 2 for three deal? 2 pilots and three ground schools: 1 ppl, 2 ifr. i have never heard of a deal like that but....if you call and talk to an administrator and see if you can work out a custom plan, especially since you are bringing two pilots to the table, you might be able to work out a discount plan.

Thinking more of a 2 for less, rather than 2 for 1 option. Like a family plan vs. each having a unique license at full cost.

I would think then you have a strong proposal going in to your school for a 2 for less option. Unfortunately, I do not know of a specific school to recommend so I'm rather useless at helping you in that way. But I think you will get interest on that proposal from any number of schools.

You could do one of the on-line ground schools, and share the log-in. Not sure if that's the intent of those, though.

Hey! I don't think I realized that gold seal was a POA member's baby! I was actually kicking that school around anyway based on a recommendation from a pilot friend here...

I'll PM write-stuff to see if there's any options there!
Its a good program. Russ and his team have done an incredible job of building the Gold Seal system.

I second Gold Seal. I used them for Instrument GS. I liked it better than Sporty's ( which I used for PP GS).

Definitely not the intent - and not something I'd advocate for (except for music- have a known history with the RIAA)

I imagine only one person would get a certificate of completion.
True, but if you then used Sheppard for test prep, the other person could get the cert from that program.

That being said, I am of the opinion that we should pay for the services that we are making use of. These training courses and support cost money to develop and maintain, and I don't see the pricing as being excessive given the amount and quality of content.
