TL;DR Teamviewer has been exploited and people have gotten access to user shopping accounts on their own computers, spending hundreds/thousands on any accounts they can get into. Also some reports of viruses being placed on their systems. Uninstall now, check your accounts!

I did uninstall it after reading your post, because a five minute search of the interwebs could not tell me what the real problem is. The reply from the vendor to my uninstall feedback says Teamviewer is not the problem, password strength integrity is the problem. All I do with it is remote control over the household network, logging in via IP address, and occasional remote log in via the web interface to one computer when away from home (login password is unique to TV, but similar pattern to other passwords I use). Thoughts?

P.S. - Sure do miss the motion on that cowpoke.

A) My computer is on only when I am using it. And my TeamViewer is not on by default either. So if anybody tries to gain access, I will immediately see it and can pull the plug instantly.
B) I have nothing on my computer worth stealing. No credit cards, no bank accounts, nothing.
C) I use strong passwords so they are not easy to guess (they aren't even English words!) so compromising my passwords would not be easy to begin with. :)

Also, you don't need to uninstall TeamViewer, you can just disable the service that advertises your PC on them Ynterwebs for everybody to see and attack.

Not sure, all I know is that some people who had their PC's on were suddenly logged into and when left unattended, attempted to gain access to shopping sites and some had viruses placed on their computers. I occasionally use it for troubleshooting computers for the family and the fiance but I never leave my PC on when I'm not on it. I've taken to the diversifying passwords based on the site (adding a few characters from the site to a base strong password) to avoid that but still.

I also miss the motion. It's just not the same :( Now he just looks at my post with his mouth wide open like he's offended by what I typed...
