Hello everyone,

This is my first post here; and I don't really know where else to throw a topic like this, but here we go.

I recently was gifted my brothers aviation headset that he used while he was in the Army, it is a David Clark H10-76. He had told me his buddy added a connector but wasn't sure what it did, or what it was for. So I come to fellow Pilots of America, and ask.

What is this mysterious connector?

The embedded pictures would've taken an entire wall to view, so I posted the links, and the image tags wouldn't display the image either.

If anybody would be of great help, and provide me with some info, or even an external link; it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't recognize it.

I understand that military headsets have differing impedance than civilian; don't know.

Thing to do is got to http://www.Headsetsinc.com and buy the ANR kit, along with the new one-piece cord. You can convert the very strong DC headset to ANR and get all the right connectors at the same time.

And, welcome to PoA!

When you say he added it, I am assuming that the headset has another set of connectors to connect to the aircraft? What sort of other connectors does it have?

I know! I know!

Communications Ear Protection earplugs with embedded speakers. Take a look at link:

http://www.cep-usa.com/cep/civil-aviation

Earplug cable attaches to the connector on the headset or helmet. Available for military and civilian use. No relation to manufacturer.

Ok, where's my prize? :)

David

X6 suffix DCs have a single plug for military aircraft and civilian helicopters. They can be used in regular ga aircraft with a splitter adapter(@50 bucks.) No idea what that plug is.
