UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) Is Coming - Looks good for Aviation Use

Hi all,

In case you have been living inside a hole in the wall, Looks like the UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) is about to hit the street.

The Samsung Model looks to have a stand attached in the back.

This will run full Windows XP, and will be Blutooth and WiFi enabled as well.

Smaller than a laptop, but bigger than a PDA.

Main Site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/umpc/default.mspx

Three manufacturers are making models with a release in April.

Asus
http://www.asus.com/

Samsung

Ancillary sites:
http://umpc.com/

That site shows a keyboard that slides out.

May have to get one of these.

Regards,
Joe

With a 2.5 hour battery life it won't last until you land.

I just had my new phone scream that the battery was discharged again. My new iPod can't serve me for a whole routine day commute-to-commute without a recharge. Don't nobody know how to fix that problem?

I've now decided that the aggravations I'm having with the phone are pushing it into the 30 day return category. The UI has problems serious enough that I don't want it.

I thought the new iPod had a battery life of 20 hours? I've gone 12+ but never kept track beyond that. Mine is the new 60Gb version.
