Type Rating And Weight

I thought I had seen this requirement somewhere in the FAR's before about aircraft being more than 12,500 lbs required a type rating. Looking at 61.31 it just says "large aircraft." Have they taken out that specific weight requirement, or am I just dreaming of something?

Check out FAR 1.1

Large aircraft means aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds, maximum
certificated takeoff weight.
