Two fatalities on training flight

My condolences. Nobody is immune to these tragedies. :(

Since it's the norm here my speculation based on no facts and pure conjecture: instructor complacency because of an above average skill set in the student and student paying more attention to the gps than to the wires resulting in late field exit.

I doubt the NTSB will be able to figure out what caused the late pull up if it wasn't mechanical in nature.

Lots of other things could do that, too. Like taking off with nose down trim.
 
Sad event for sure.. Small mistakes can be deadly when flying. Pray this is the last loss of live in GA this year.
