A few days ago there was a news segment on MIA Channel 10 about a twin with an instructor and one other person on board that went down in the Everglades, and the crew were shown standing on top of the aircraft waving to the chopper that air lifted them out. I did not see any further information, no indication of where in the Glades this went down, or why it went down. Does anyone have more information on this?

Glad they made it out, definitely not a good place to go down. :frown:

Good news, glad they made it,the airplane can be replaced.

A prop governor failure could be one reason (unable to feather, too much drag, can't make it back to an airport on one engine).... bad/wrong fuel could be another possibility.

fire in the nose, like the baron that ditched in the GOM. Power redundancy is specious on these things when there are other weak points unaddressed.
