Twas the day after Christmas...

At work til 5p today, on a beautiful day that could be spent flying...or at least admiring the airplane whilst kicking the tires.

Not a good day to fly, off to the hangar to build jacks to lift the Sport.

So, instead of flying you are at work wasting spending time with your online family...:lol:

Excuses excuses. I never thought a little rain would stop you from flying.....:lol:

The day after is way more interesting than the 25th, though I did get to fly.

I rode my motorcycle to BMI and flew one of the Dakotas. 65 here today...not bored at all!

Waiting to hear how the test flight went with my GNC355 install. I hope the test pilot is gentle (and successful).

Went to field to fly. Ended up riding along with friend in MU2 to troubleshoot autopilot issues. - real spooky when you engage the autopilot and it starts pitching up and down violently. Or engage it and it turns 60+ degree bank:eek::eek: worked it out in end. Took pic of old VOR decommissioned.

Let husband fly some today. Shakedown cruise after replacing spinner.
Benson <-> Nogales, AZ
Windy and bumpy, but sunny.

I went flying today. Not boring at all.

Jinxed myself during a brief stop at a neighboring field. Told a guy how I was surprised that I've had zero electrical issues since finishing the RV 19 years ago.

Alternator wasn't charging on the flight home...

It is extraordinarily warm her in the Tri-State (OH-KY-IN), so we're sanding and painting kitchen cabinets, and putting a new patio door, stuff that I had planned for several months in the future. So, no boredom. (No airplane, either—it's good weather for that, no precip, high ceiling, slight winds.)

don't thing I get BBCAmerica..
I finally dropped cable and went with Sling Blue. $30/mo. using internet. Not much sports, but thats ok. I’ve only got DSL 5 MB and the quality is fine. Not super high density but so what? I don’t have a highend tv so I wouldn’t know the difference.

I was up at 5 am (my normal time) to get my wife to a scheduled surgery to remove the hardware from last year's bunion surgery. Spent the rest of the day playing nurse with ice, meds, etc. Today is part time nurse, part time IT ... most everyone took the week off and so far, nothing to do on the IT side.

Two flights in the Great Lakes. 2.5 hours, 25 landings.

Total of 5.5 hours and 41 landings so far to meet the 10 hour, 50 landings requirements for solo privilages. Open cockpit flying in December. Only in California. I’ve got a lot of Citabria and Decathlon time, but takeoffs and landings where you can’t see the runway in front is a very different experience. Each and every landing is work, at least at my stage of experience with the plane.

My own plane has been down for an annual and engine change since May, and the Decathlon I usually rent for acro has been down since June and won’t be back till at least May of next year. This is the only flying I’ve done since then. Thank goodness I’ve gotten some flying in the biplane. I don’t think it’ll replace the Viking for travel, but for sheer fun and thrills, it can’t be beat.

Glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. Flying the Stearman was cool, but it was work.

Yeah, it is work. Fun, though. I got another 1.5 hours and 12 landings in this morning. Total of 7 hours, 53 landings. The next flights we’re gonna wear the chutes. No more laps in the pattern required. Yay!

Santa brought me 2 Skybeacons and a Sun Avionics ramp tester. I'm too busy today to be bored. If I didn't want to run an extra wire for the strobe, rather than connecting it to the wing light, I'd be done. Then, because it is blowing 25+ at 45 degrees to the runway and 40 degrees, I'd be bored also.
Santa brought Wife a sewing machine that cost as much as my stuff. I spend AMUs and she spends QMUs with Q meaning quilt. :)
